How to Use the Tilapia Cycle Budget Planner
Free. No sign-up. Works on your phone.
What it gives you
- Total money needed for the cycle and the start-up cash.
- Feed to buy each month, by feed type and sack size.
- Cost per kilo grown: the farm-gate price you have to beat.
- Expected sales, profit or loss, and return on money spent.
Most of the money in a tilapia cycle goes to feed, and it is needed a little more each month as the fish grow. This free planner shows how much cash the whole cycle needs, when you need it, and whether the cycle makes money at your selling price.
How to use the Cycle Budget, step by step

Tap Plan my budget
The result shows the total, the month-by-month spending and the profit.
The example in the video
| Pond area | 1,000 m², no aerator |
|---|---|
| Fingerling size | 2 g |
| Harvest size | 300 g |
| Survival | 70% |
| FCR | 1.5 |
| Example prices | Fingerling ₱0.60 · fry feed ₱650 per 10 kg · starter ₱560 per 10 kg · grower ₱1,300 per 25 kg |
| Labor | ₱3,000 a month |
| Pond prep | ₱2,500 |
| Selling price | ₱120 per kg |
| Total money needed | ₱100,947 |
|---|---|
| Start-up cash | ₱5,350 |
| Harvest | 997.5 kg (3,325 fish) |
| Cost per kilo grown | ₱101 |
| Sales at ₱120/kg | ₱119,700 |
| Profit this cycle | ₱18,753 (19%) |
How to read the result
In this example the cycle needs ₱100,947 in all, but only ₱5,350 at the start. Feed is about 80% of the cost, 1,482 kg over the cycle, and it peaks in the third month. It costs ₱101 to grow one kilo, so selling at ₱120 per kilo leaves ₱18,753. The prices shown are examples only: type your own, because feed and fish prices change by area and season.
Questions growers ask
How much capital do I need for a 1,000 square meter tilapia pond?
With the example prices in this tutorial, about ₱101,000 for one cycle, most of it feed spread over four to five months. Use the planner with your own prices for a real figure.
What is the biggest cost in tilapia farming?
Feed. In this example it is about 80% of the total, which is why FCR and feeding discipline matter so much.
